I am a skilled editor and translator with over a decade of experience in helping writers to get their articles and books, primarily in the social sciences and humanities, into print. To achieve this, I draw on my deep knowledge of the social sciences and humanities, gained in my BA in Economic and Social Studies from Trinity College, Dublin, and my MA in the Sociology of Contemporary Culture from the University of York, UK. My work is driven by a passion for language and writing, honed through many years as an editor, translator, writing coach, and occasional writer. I am a fluent speaker of German, which comes in especially useful in my work as a German-English translator but also informs my practice as an editor who often works with native speakers of other languages. I see it as my job to uncover the writer’s true intention and communicate it in as elegant a voice as possible. My job is not just to correct commas—it is to transform texts!
